European Cybersecurity Month: Looking Ahead to Our 13th Annual Cybersecurity Conference

14 October 2026

As Europe marks European Cybersecurity Month this October, attention turns to the growing importance of cybersecurity in safeguarding Europe's digital economy, critical infrastructure and wider security. On 4 November, Forum Europe's 13th Annual European Cyber Security Conference will bring together senior policymakers, industry leaders and cybersecurity practitioners in Brussels to examine the priorities shaping Europe's cyber resilience.

Organised each October, European Cybersecurity Month is an EU-wide awareness campaign coordinated by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) and the European Commission. It highlights the importance of cybersecurity and encourages individuals, businesses and organisations to strengthen their digital security practices.

This year's campaign comes at a particularly important moment for Europe's cybersecurity landscape. Against a backdrop of evolving cyber threats, geopolitical uncertainty and rapid technological change, strengthening Europe's collective resilience has become an increasingly pressing priority.

From awareness to action: Europe's evolving cybersecurity agenda

Building on the momentum of European Cybersecurity Month, Forum Europe will host its 13th Annual European Cyber Security Conference on 4 November 2026, at the Radisson Grand Place in Brussels.

Now in its 13th edition, the conference provides an established platform for policymakers, industry leaders, cybersecurity practitioners and civil society representatives to exchange perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing Europe's cybersecurity ecosystem.

The conference will open with keynote addresses from Catherine Ardagh, Minister of State at Ireland's Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, and Jonas Daniliauskas, Envoy for Cyber Diplomacy at Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, setting the scene for discussions on Europe's evolving cybersecurity priorities.

Throughout the day, participants will examine several key challenges, from the proposed revision of the EU Cybersecurity Act and the security of critical ICT supply chains to European cyber sovereignty, intelligence sharing, crisis preparedness and the impact of artificial intelligence.

Confirmed speakers include Markéta Gregorová MEP, Rapporteur for the Cybersecurity Act revision, who will contribute to discussions on trusted ICT supply chains; Francesco Barbato, Head of Sector for Cybersecurity Investment, Research and Industrial Policy at the European Commission, who will explore Europe's cybersecurity competitiveness; and Hans de Vries, Chief Cybersecurity and Operational Officer at ENISA, who will address Europe's evolving cyber resilience challenges.

The growing intersection between artificial intelligence and cybersecurity will also feature prominently, with contributions from Matthieu Delescluse, Head of Unit for AI Safety at the European AI Office, and Nicole Isaac, Vice President of Global Public Policy for Government Affairs at Cisco, examining how Europe can harness AI for cyber defence while responding to increasingly sophisticated AI-enabled threats.

The conference will conclude with a practitioner-focused exchange exploring what Europe's evolving cybersecurity agenda means for organisations on the ground, followed by a networking reception.

Continuing the conversation in Brussels

European Cybersecurity Month provides an important opportunity to raise awareness and encourage collective responsibility for digital security. Maintaining that momentum requires sustained dialogue between those developing cybersecurity policy and those responsible for putting it into practice.

Taking place just days after the campaign concludes, the 13th Annual European Cyber Security Conference will carry these discussions forward, bringing together perspectives from across Europe's cybersecurity community to consider the next steps towards a more secure, resilient and competitive digital Europe.
