Here’s everything that happened in Bangkok at the 11th Asia-Pacific Spectrum Management Conference

31 March 2025

The Global Spectrum Series wrapped up its Asia-Pacific edition on 13 - 14 March in Bangkok, Thailand.

Hosted by Forum Global, with support from the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the 11th Asia-Pacific Spectrum Management Conference brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to discuss key spectrum management issues shaping the region's telecommunications landscape.

The event featured discussions on spectrum allocation, emerging technologies, and regulatory challenges shaping the future of telecommunications.

On Day 1, the conference opened with inspiring keynote presentations from Masanori Kondo of APT, Mario Maniewicz of ITU & Nobuyuki Kawai, Chairman of APG-27. The panel discussions and sessions that followed delved into pressing issues such as the upper 6GHz band, the 6G spectrum evolution, and Mid-Band frequencies.

The conversations continued in Day 2, covering spectrum pricing, 5G rollouts, bridging the digital divide, the future of D2D connectivity, and the evolving UHF landscape. Finally, Atsuko Okuda of ITU took the stage to conclude the conference.
