Connecting the Global Policy Community - 2025 So Far for Forum Europe and Forum Global

Key Moments from 2025 So Far

Since January, our work has covered a wide array of industries and policy areas, including digital economy and technology, connectivity, satellite and space, retail, finance, data protection and more, ranging from large-scale, multi-venue productions to intimate, invite-only sessions. Key industries and events included:

• Wireless Connectivity & Spectrum Management: The European and Asia-Pacific Spectrum Management Conferences, the D2D Policy Forum, and Amazon’s “The Future of Connectivity in Europe” explored spectrum use, 5G networks, direct-to-device innovation, and the future of network infrastructure in Europe.
• Satellite & Space: The European Space Forum and sessions on satellite-based connectivity reflected growing interest in space infrastructure and its policy implications, including initial reactions to the EU Space Act.
• AI Governance: The USA AI Summit, Masters of Digital 2025, and other sessions addressed regulation, ethical frameworks, and the intersection of AI and digital competitiveness.
• Defence & Security: RUSI and Cisco’s “Digital Priorities for Defence in an Uncertain World” examined Europe's evolving defence technology landscape, fostering dialogue between industry leaders, EU institutions, and the defence ecosystem.

• Retail & Industry: The Retail Innovation Summit and eBay events shone a spotlight on e-Commerce and commercial strategy.

• Finance & Trade: Financing Europe 2025 and eBay's "Ensuring Access to the EU Internal Market for Small Businesses" focused on investment, SME access, and platform economy dynamics.

• Social Impact & Wellbeing: The Global Hearth Summit 2025 brought together 800+ changemakers from over 80 countries across 14 unique locations throughout Ljubljana. Read more about the project here.

In the second half of 2025, Forum Europe and Forum Global will continue convening high-level policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders across key sectors and locations globally. Highlights include regional forums on spectrum management in Sub-Sahara Africa, the Americas, Latin America, and MENA, alongside flagship European events on cybersecurity, quantum technologies, digital education, and AI governance.

The calendar also features major gatherings on investment management, post-trade infrastructure, accessibility, transport and sustainability, and space policy - including the launch of both the Americas Space Forum and Americas D2D Policy Forum in Washington D.C.
