Advancing Spectrum Strategy Across the Americas: Recapping the 14th Americas Spectrum Management Conference.

5 December 2025

The 14th Americas Spectrum Management Conference took place at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., hosting two days of high-level discussions on 30-31 October. The event gathered an impressive cross-section of high-level regulators and industry leaders from across the connectivity ecosystem, who convened to discuss the most pressing issues relating to the management and coordination of spectrum across the US and beyond.

The conference opened with keynote speeches from Olivia Trusty, Commissioner at the FCC, and Arielle Roth, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information and Administrator of the NTIA. This was followed by keynote contributions from Ajit Pai, President and CEO of CTIA, and the Hon. Cory Gardner, President and CEO of NCTA.

Sessions explored the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” the 800 MHz pipeline target, and the practical realities of repurposing federal spectrum, alongside an “all-of-the-above” approach combining licensed, shared, and unlicensed frameworks. Later discussions examined pathways to deliver additional C-band spectrum, the modernization of satellite sharing rules, and the growing role of CBRS as a mature platform supporting private networks and enterprise innovation.

The discussions explored how the United States could refill its spectrum pipeline, unlock the Upper C-band (3.98–4.2 GHz), and advance direct-to-device satellite connectivity, while addressing satellite coexistence and sharing frameworks and the continued evolution of CBRS. Sessions also focused on strengthening global spectrum leadership, outlining a clear pathway toward 6G, and balancing licensed, shared, and unlicensed spectrum access. Further discussions examined the development of the Upper 6 GHz ecosystem and strategies to expand connectivity to rural and tribal communities.

Across the programme, the conference featured 47 expert speakers participating in 10 panel discussions, with 350+ attendees joining over 8+ hours of dedicated discussions. The event welcomed participants representing 10 countries, highlighting the pertinence of the discussions throughout the Americas and beyond.
