The Data Privacy Conference USA Returns to Washington, D.C. with focus on AI, Innovation, Security & Trust
4 September 2024
This year’s Annual Data Privacy Conference USA is set to be another exciting edition, bringing together legislators, regulators, industry leaders, and civil society representatives to discuss the crucial role of data privacy in shaping a people-first digital ecosystem.
We look forward to hearing from Senator Cantwell, Chair of the US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, about how a comprehensive federal privacy law, such as the recently released draft legislation APRA, could pave the way for a future digital society built on privacy, innovation, and trust, and to hear Congresswoman Stevens' thoughts on the role that Privacy Enhancing Technologies can play in protecting privacy in the AI era.
The conference will feature high-level discussions on developing a dynamic U.S. approach to data privacy and governance, particularly in light of the recent surge in AI advancements. Attendees will explore strategies for implementing responsible AI practices that align with robust data privacy principles and debate whether comprehensive federal regulation could serve as the foundation for future AI-related laws. Other sessions will focus on creating privacy-focused data-sharing mechanisms that also unlock societal benefits, addressing the balance between national security and privacy, and examining the global impact of evolving data privacy regulations on international data flows.
This conference promises to be a pivotal event in shaping the future of data privacy in the U.S. and beyond, featuring top-level experts including:
