Highlights from the 10th edition of the Asia Pacific Spectrum Management Conference in Indonesia

28 May 2024

The Forum Global team were delighted to take this year’s Asia Pacific Spectrum Management Conference to Indonesia for the first time since the event launched 10 years ago. Working alongside the event co-hosts, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Indonesia, and Telkom University, the conference welcomed over 200 delegates to Jakarta, and 1000+ participants online, on 23-24 April 2024.

During the opening ceremony of the conference, we had the honour of welcoming Minister Budi Arie Setiadi of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, Rector, Telkom University and Masanori Kondo, Secretary General, Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT).

Opening Ceremony

Following these welcome keynote presentations, sessions on the first day of the event covered the outcomes from WRC-23 and looking ahead to WRC-27; the future of the 6GHz band and the emerging mid-band ecosystem below 6GHz; as well as the challenges and opportunities of 5G in the APAC region. Delegates then enjoyed a networking reception, kindly hosted by Intelsat.

Day 1

Day Two welcomed more high-level speakers to discuss spectrum roadmaps and award plans; spectrum pricing, licensing, and renewals; tackling the digital divide; direct-to-device connectivity and hybrid networks; managing the coexistence of GSO and NGSO satellite systems; and spectrum sharing.
