Vice President Šuica & Commissioner Johansson to speak at Forum Europe’s European Child Safety Online Conference
12 May 2022
Following the release of the new European strategy for a Better Internet for Kids and the proposal for a regulation laying down rules to prevent and combat child sexual abuse, Forum Europe is honoured to announce the participation of Dubravka Šuica, the European Commission’s Vice President for Democracy and Demography, and of Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson at our upcoming European Child Safety Online Conference on 30th June in Brussels and Online.
The conference will provide a platform for discussion on the proposed initiatives, asking if they are fit-for-purpose and are likely to remain future-proof to address the pace of digital innovation.
Join us on 30th June to explore how the new strategy will interact with other EU and global policies and self-regulation initiatives aimed at tackling the different online risks that children are exposed to, and at making the online world a better, safer, fairer place. We will also examine the role that technology and innovative solutions can play in achieving these objectives, feature examples of initiatives undertaken in Member States to protect children online, identify best practices, and ask what more is needed to equip children with the necessary digital skills and tools to safely benefit from what the Internet has to offer.
In-person places to attend this event are limited and offered on an application basis, while virtual places remain unlimited. To register to attend this free event and for more information, please visit https://childsafety-online.eu.
