Commissioner-designate Mariya Gabriel to open the 2nd Annual European Artificial Intelligence Conference

At the outset of the European Commission’s next five-year term, Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, and Commissioner-designate for Innovation and Youth will deliver a keynote speech at Forum Europe’s 2nd Annual European Artificial Intelligence Conference. Commissioner Gabriel will discuss progress towards legislation for a coordinated European approach on the human and ethical implications of artificial intelligence and how policymakers and industry can work together to realise the potential of AI in Europe.
This year’s conference, which will gather around 200 delegates, will look to inspire and excite with examples of the power of AI to change and improve the lives of citizens across the globe. The debate will look at the ongoing work of the AI HLEG and the European Commission in developing a competitive environment for the research and development of AI, and it will also look at the latest thinking from experts on issues such as ethics.
