About
Space-based capabilities now sit at the heart of Europe’s security and defence, underpinning everything from communications and navigation to intelligence and surveillance. Recent crises have laid bare this dependence, exposing critical vulnerabilities and sharpening the urgency of strengthening Europe’s capacity for independent, autonomous action.
At this pivotal moment, the European Space Security and Defence Forum, co-located with the European Space Forum, brought together key stakeholders to confront these challenges and help define Europe’s strategic response.
The forum brought together over 150 attending delegates, including senior representatives from European institutions, Member States, industry, and international partners. Over the course of 5 panel discussions and 9 keynote speeches, 23 expert panellists convened to examine the deepening integration of space and defence, the scale of investment required to deliver credible capabilities, and the strategic shifts needed to secure Europe’s long-term resilience and autonomy in an increasingly contested environment.
