About the Event
Data protection is an issue of pivotal importance for the EU. With sessions on the most topical privacy challenges facing Europe and beyond, this event is now established as the must-attend annual data protection and privacy conference held in Brussels.
The Conference was launched in 2010, and has grown from strength to strength since its inception. Around 300 participants attend each year, hearing from an average of 25 top-level speakers. The 9th edition of the Conference took place in March 2019.
- Brussels' premier annual data protection gathering
- European Commissioner for Justice present at every edition
- High-level global policymakers joining the conference every year
- Networking cocktail reception
The European Data Protection and Privacy Conference is well-established on the Brussels scene, and has attracted speakers and participants from more than 26 countries.
“It is already a ninth time that you organise this conference series dedicated to privacy. It would be fair to say that you started to debate on this issue before it became popular and you deserve a big thank you for that.
I always say that data protection rules, GDPR or others, can only truly succeed if the conversation about them goes beyond the experts debate and I want to thank you for contributing to this.”
Věra Jourová, European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality
“Forum Europe’s Annual European Data Protection & Privacy Conference has proved to be an invaluable forum to discuss the EU’s direction, as well as global trends, on these critical issues. It’s a key moment in the calendar for BSA to share its and its members’ experience from across 60 countries with European and international stakeholders as they work to drive conversations on future regulation and global convergence.”
Thomas Boué, Director General, Policy - EMEA, BSA | The Software Alliance
“The Forum Europe data protection conferences are a great way to discuss key topics in this area with a wide variety of stakeholders — regulators from the EU and around the world, attorneys, business and IT security professionals, government employees, academia, research, and the media. There is a lot of interaction, and it is a great way to discuss the various perspectives and help prepare your organisation for the evolving landscape.”
