Forum Europe manages event at Mobile World Congress for the 5G Broadcast Business Strategy Task Force
Forum Europe worked with the 5G Broadcast Business Strategy Task Force, comprising of TDF (France), Media Broadcast (Germany), BTCY (Belgium), Emitel (Poland), CRA (Czech Republic), RAI (Italy), and Rohde & Schwarz (Global), to run a side event at the Mobile World Congress, a four day event welcoming 120,000+ attendees.
5G Broadcast is moving from trials to reality. With networks ready, content providers committed and global standards in place, the focus is now firmly on commercialisation and scale. This event was part of the programme at MWC. The interactive discussion brought together European broadcasters, network operators, chipset leaders and device manufacturers to assess Europe and the world’s strategic ambitions for 5G Broadcast, showcase concrete deployment models, and examine the remaining barriers to mass adoption. From public safety and free-to-air obligations to device differentiation and global market opportunities, the discussion explored how coordinated action across policy, technology and investment can unlock 5G Broadcast at scale.
The event welcomed 70 participants to a highly sought-after, invitation-only discussion, featuring keynote addresses from Qualcomm and Motorola Mobility. Two panel discussions took place on the European Ambitions for 5G Broadcast, as well as the Path to Commercialisation.
