Luke joined the Forum Europe team in August 2021 as an Event Manager, developing Forum Europe's own initiative events.
Luke’s career path has led him in many directions and to many locations. He left Capsicum Culinary School in Cape Town, South Africa, with a Distinction in Professional Catering in 2007, and spent nearly 10 years working as a chef in Cape Town, Bristol, Malawi, the French Alps, and London. In 2014 he left the professional kitchen to go to university while working part-time for a street food and catering company. He graduated from The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) with a Bachelors in Development Studies and Social Anthropology in 2017.
Soon after graduation he spent some time in Kazungula, Zambia, working with consultants on a border project, returning to Cardiff once his contract was completed. Prior to joining Forum Europe, he was the Public Diplomacy Officer for The Consulate General of Ireland, Cardiff, and before then worked for HMRC in The Surge and Rapid Response Team.
Luke and his wife have called Cardiff home since August 2017, but he still has close ties to Zambia where he grew up, and where most of family still live. He still pursues his love of food and continues to experiment with different style and techniques, poring over cookbooks and saving magazine cut-outs. He is an avid reader, charity shop rummager, and castle enthusiast, but is happiest when he is playing silly games with his son.
