With the release of the European Commission's proposals for the revision of the Data Protection Directive expected in early 2012 (shortly after the event), the 2nd Annual European Data Protection and Privacy Conference offered the 450+ delegates in attendance an opportunity to hear from all the key policymakers and stakeholders involved.
Forum Europe worked with Edenred on the organisation of its first Investor Day as a standalone company, which was held on November 29th 2011 in London. Jacques Stern, Edenred CEO, and other top members of the group spoke to present the “Edenred Conquer 2012” Strategy.
The annual E-Commerce conference is the leading forum where policymakers and stakeholders come to discuss and debate the most pertinent issues affecting the “sector”. This year’s event featured a morning, high-level plenary followed by focused parallel sessions in the afternoon. These sessions dealt with specific areas, including, IPR and copyright, notice and takedown, online dispute resolution, payments, data protection, postal services and logistics.
The inaugural Americas Spectrum Management Conference took place in Washington DC on 19th & 20th October (with a pre-conference workshop on 18th October), and provided a high-level meeting point for all representatives from the Americas and global spectrum management community.
On the 22nd September in Brussels on the occasion of Mobility Week, ETRA (The European Twowheel Retailers' Association) and Forum Europe, in association with the Netherlands Embassy to the EU, the Greens/EFA Group and UEAPME, hosted an exhibition of innovative bicycles and other two-wheelers outside the European Parliament (on the Esplanade). This included a high-level meeting with many senior policy-makers and stakeholders in attendance.
Against the backdrop of the recent publication of the much-anticipated Green Paper on Online Gambling, this one day high-level conference gathered key policy makers, national regulators and stakeholders for a full and frank discussion on the best way forward to achieve a market for online gambling services that is appropriately regulated.
The 3rd Annual Internet of Things Europe 2011 Conference, run with the support of the European Commission, joined together business leaders, consumer advocates, policymakers and entrepreneurs to explore what opportunities and risks the Internet of Things will offer businesses and consumers. The conference also explored how the Internet of Things will re-shape our interactions with the real and virtual worlds in the coming years.
Now in its 6th year, this year's European Spectrum Management Conference once again enhanced the event's reputation as the major European meeting point of the year for stakeholders in the field of spectrum management, bringing together more than 280 top-level participants.
Under the High Patronage of the Hungarian Presidency of the European Union, the FOOD conference was hosted in the European Parliament premises in Brussels on May 31st, 2011. The Conference launched the transition from the co-funded project of balanced nutrition to a programme adaptable in other Member States.
The European Sustainable Chemicals Management Conference 2011 took place on 31st May - 1st June & presented a critique of current European legislation, exploring how it could be improved to provide a high level of public and environmental protection, without stunting the growth of the European Chemicals Industry.
'Every European Digital': The Challenge of Bridging the Broadband Gap focussed on the European Commission’s Digital Agenda Action Plan, which aimed to to give every European citizen access to basic broadband by 2013. The event took stock of the obstacles standing in the way of achieving 100% coverage, explored the role that new broadband infrastructure could play and considered how broadband for all could be funded.
Taking place during EU Green Week, this Forum Europe and CEPS conference had as its context the recent publication by the European Commission of the transport white paper, which called for the complete removal of conventionally-fuelled cars in cities by 2050. The conference analysed the key policy and business steps required to deploy electric vehicles on a commercial scale and was attended by stakeholders in the energy, transport and environment sectors.
Regulating Mobile Roaming Charges – A One Day Policy Forum took place against the backdrop of the recent Commission consultation on the roaming regulation, and gathered key policy makers, representatives of the telecoms industry, and other stakeholders for a full and frank discussion on the best way forward in creating a functional internal market for mobile roaming services.
This joint Forum Europe and CEPS conference took stock of ongoing EU policy developments and asked what framework and what policies will be needed to ensure continuity and even acceleration of the many promising local government initiatives that exist.
Now in its fifth year, the annual European Nutrition and Lifestyle Conference has become a must attend event for representatives for all stakeholders involved in nutrition and diet, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
The event brought together top level speakers from industry, regulators, EU institutions and NGOs to engage in a pro-active and progressive debate on the current and future trends relating to obesity and nutrition within Europe, and on important policy issues such as advertising, labelling, nutrient profiling and health claims.
The Inaugural European Raw Materials Conference took place on the 1st March 2011 and brought together 250+ delegates for some very stimulating and interesting discussions around Europe’s political and practical responses to the threats associated with the global race for raw materials.
The 9th Annual European Financial Services Conference - Taking Stock of Reform: Fragmentation or Convergence? - focused on the reform of the financial services sector since the crisis of 2008, at both an EU and a global level.
With a Keynote Presentation from Commissioner Barnier, the event saw more than 400 senior bankers and policy-makers from around the world gather to debate the issues affecting European and global financial markets.
The 2nd Annual Brussels Carbon Capture and Storage Summit took place at the Sofitel Europe on the 26th January 2011. This high level conference brought together over 100 delegates from Industry, NGO's and the EU and Member State institutions for a full and interactive discussion on the development of CCS demonstration projects.
